The application form must be filled in on the Finnish national Studyinfo portal. Please visit the site for more information and to apply. The application form on the site can be filled in only during the application period (December 1st, 2020 8:00 – January 15th, 2021 15:00, GMT +2).

You must fill in the online application form and upload the required scanned enclosures (in color and in pdf format) by the given application deadline. At the application stage, we require only scanned enclosures attached (uploaded) to the application form, i.e. paper copies are not required during this stage. You have to also a upload a video answer (2 min +/- 30 seconds) that answers the question “What is your main motivation to apply for the EDISS programme and why should you be chosen to the programme?”.

Please note that the EDISS Consortium will not process applications/documents that have arrived after the deadline. In addition, the Consortium will not review or comment any application documents sent by email during the application process.

Online Application form

The online application form is available in the Studyinfo.fi portal only during the application period. Click the Studyinfo.fi picture below to access the EDISS application form.

How to apply

At the application stage we require only scanned enclosures (in colour and pdf format) attached to the online application. The required application enclosures are listed on this page. Remember to check both the general requirements for the enclosures and the country-specific requirements. The country-specific requirements must be followed first and foremost, before the general requirements. Note that you also have to prepare a video answer.

Applicants, who have not completed their Bachelor’s degree by the application deadline, must in the application form state the expected graduation date and enclose the transcript of records of all the studies completed so far. These applicants can be conditionally admitted but they still have to send a scanned certified true copy of the degree awarded as soon as possible. It must reach the EDISS programme office the latest by 30th July 2021 at 15:00 (Helsinki time).

The online EDISS application form is a separate application hosted on studyinfo.fi. Follow the instructions on the application form and submit the application.

You will not be able to save your application as a draft version. You need to fill in all the required information and upload required enclosures in order to submit your application. If you want to make changes to your application, use the link provided in your confirmation email. The email is sent after the submission of your application. Please note that this link is personal. Giving it to someone else means that they can make changes to your application. You can make changes to your application until the application deadline.

You will be able to upload enclosures to your application up to one week after the application deadline, but you will not be able to change any other information in the application form after the application deadline has passed.

You will be able to update the information in your application until the application deadline by using the link sent to the email address that you provided in the application form. In case you did not receive a link, please check your spam folder. The application deadline is January 15, 2021 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT+2). The admission decisions will be published in the beginning of March 2021.

We will require all admitted applicants to submit their original degree certificates and transcript of records, including original translations, of the documents for verification upon arrival in Finland. The verification of the original documents will be done by the EDISS programme office and the admission office of Åbo Akademi University.

Please note the general requirements for the enclosures and the possible country-specific requirements. The country-specific requirements must be followed first and foremost, before the general requirements. All documents, including the ones sent directly to the university by your previous institution must reach the EDISS programme office by the given deadline(s).

Giving incorrect/false information or failing to provide the required documentation will lead to direct cancellation of the admission.

Special needs
We encourage people with special needs to apply for EDISS. If you need special assistance (e.g. you have dyslexia) we will ask you to provide a proof if you are admitted to the programme. Please visit the Åbo Akademi university website to learn more about accessibility in studies.
