Vinay Sanga – An EDISS Journey Through IoT, AI, and Italian Culture

In his second year at the University of L’Aquila as part of the Erasmus Mundus EDISS programme, Vinay expanded both his technical expertise and personal horizons. He explored software architecture for IoT by designing and building connected systems and gained hands-on experience with large language models, including fine-tuning and performance evaluation.

His master’s thesis, titled “Automatic evaluation of critical cargo: A Computer Vision approach“, focuses on artefact detection and security evaluation for critical cargo, applying computer vision techniques to monitor and assess transportation safety. The programme’s emphasis on system architecture and design strengthened his ability to think holistically, considering both technical challenges and stakeholder perspectives. Beyond academics, his time in L’Aquila was enriched by cultural discovery, nature hikes, and memorable local experiences, making his EDISS journey both professionally and personally rewarding.
