Record-breaking interest in EDISS!

This year’s scholarship application round for the EDISS Master’s Programme (Intake 6) received a record number of 1133 submitted applications from talented students around the world. The application round closed on Thursday, 8 January 2026, and attracted applicants from 88 countries.

Two additional application rounds are forthcoming, providing further opportunities to become part of the EDISS community:

Since its launch in 2020, the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Engineering of Data-intensive Intelligent Software Systems (EDISS) has firmly established itself as a leading institution in computer engineering and artificial intelligence education. The programme has welcomed 108 outstanding students from around the world, and interest in EDISS continues to rise. Graduates receive a double degree from Åbo Akademi University (Finland) and one of the three partner institutions: Mälardalen University (Sweden)the University of L’Aquila (Italy), and the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain). EDISS is collaborating with 40 industrial partners and 11 universities worldwide. 

EDISS has secured a total of €8 million in funding from the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). The programme has consistently attracted high-achieving students from top-ranked universities worldwide, and all graduates have completed their studies on time.
