Ikram reflects on his academic journey and professional growth through EDISS. He highlights the second year of the programme and the EDISS winter schools as some of the most enjoyable and memorable aspects of his experience, combining rigorous study with cultural exploration and strong peer connections.
A defining moment of the programme was securing a competitive internship at Nokia alongside several EDISS classmates, where collaborative work on machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing projects created a unique environment of learning, teamwork, and innovation. This experience not only strengthened technical expertise but also fostered lasting professional and personal relationships.
Currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Nokia, the alumnus credits EDISS with providing a solid theoretical foundation in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, complemented by hands-on projects conducted in collaboration with industry and academic experts.
The programme also enhanced his communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, preparing him to contribute meaningfully to real-world AI applications. Looking ahead, he envisions a future in AI and data science where he can lead teams, develop impactful AI-driven solutions, and contribute to technological progress within Europe and beyond.
