This group brings together talented students from different countries, academic backgrounds, and cultures, all sharing a passion for software engineering, data, AI, and technology. Over the coming two years, they will study across our partner universities, work on challenging research and industry projects, and become part of a truly international academic community. Applications for the 7th intake of EDISS are coming up! 🚀 The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programme on the Engineering of Data-intensive Intelligent Software Systems (EDISS) offers three application rounds for studies starting in August 2027: 📅 1️⃣ Erasmus Mundus & EDISS Scholarships: 16 November 2026 – 12 January 2027 📅 2️⃣ Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarships: 25 February – 11 March 2027 📅 3️⃣ Self-funded Applications: 6 – 15 April 2027 🔎 Check the application requirements and start preparing your application early!

To help you find answers instantly, we have summarised our core admission criteria below. Please review these essential requirements carefully before reaching out, as our team is unable to reply to individual email inquiries that are already answered here or on our website.

Academic eligibility:

  • Any applicant with a Bachelor’s or equivalent undergraduate degree from an accredited university is eligible to apply to the programme. However, the programme is very competitive, so to have a realistic chance, students need to have studied at least one of the following subjects at university level: computer science, software engineering, applied mathematics. 
  • Work experience in IT will not compensate for a lack of theoretical knowledge demonstrated through university studies.
  • We do not offer individual pre-eligibility assessments.

Language requirements:

  • We only accept TOEFL and IELTS (NOT as online versions).  Completing your Bachelor´s degree in English will NOT replace the compulsory language test unless you completed your studies in English on-site in one of the listed countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the USA, Switzerland, or an EU/EEA country.
